Alright, we admit it. We’ve been awful at updating this blog/website/whatever, so we’re throwing in the towel. Not on the party, of course – we’re still going strong every 4th Saturday at 222 Hyde in San Francisco – we’re just abandoning ship on this little web outpost. As far as we can tell, hardly anyone is looking at it anyways. Don’t get us wrong, that doesn’t mean we’re not active on the web – there are all sorts of ways to find out what we’re up to and multiple places where you can read our witty banter, listen to exclusive mixes, and find out when the next party is happening. Another SF (and US) premiere at ICEE HOT this month! This time we welcome MOSCA from London to mash up the dance at 222 Hyde. His Square One EP on the Night Slugs label drew mad love from the worlds top selectahs and better DJs across the planet. Backed by remixes from Roska, Bok Bok, L-Vis 1990, Greena, and Julio Bashmore, every track on the EP is essential, including the 10 minute club anthem “Nike.” The man stands at the forefront of modern club music and we are super excited to hear his special blend of funky, grime, and bashment styles. And of course residnt badmans Ghosts On Tape, Low Limit, and Disco Shawn will be burning down the dancehall with an upfront selection of funky, house, bass, garage, whatever-you-call-it. Earlier this week, local rag the SF Weekly, who we’re still loving for that “Best New Club Night” award, asked our very own Rollie Fingers to put together a little DJ mix for their website. They also posted this photo of him wearing a purse in front of the Taj Mahal and asked him to write a something about each of the songs in the mix. Icee Hot Named “Best New Club Night” by the SF Weekly

Earlier today, local rag the SF Weekly released its Best of San Francisco 2010 issue and named Icee Hot the “Best New Club Night” in the city. Big thanks to the Weekly for the props. We promise not to let the victory go to our heads, although we are going to demand that everyone refer to us from now on as “The Award-Winning Icee Hot.” That’s cool, right?

Shortstuff Added to Special Double-Up Edition of Icee Hot; Date and Venue Changed Too

We know that everyone is prepping their game for this Saturday’s Icee Hot blowout with Nguzunguzu, but we have a couple of quick programming notes for our special upcoming mini-massive with Ikonika.

First of all, there has been a small change to the date and venue. The party is now happening on THURSDAY, JUNE 3 at PARADISE LOUNGE.

Second of all, we realized that while Ikonika was going to fill the evening’s badgyal quotient, the party needed an extra dose of badmanism. So we’ve invited our pal Shortstuff – who you may remember from our March party or the amazing promo mix he did for us – to round out the bill.

A new flyer is in the works, but mark your calendars in the meantime. ICEE HOT + IKONIKA + SHORTSTUFF = LARGENESS ON JUNE 3.

She is quickly becoming a fixture in the UK underground bass music scene, with releases and remixes on highly esteemed labels such as Hyperdub, Planet Mu, Warp, Ramp, and Night Slugs, as well as appearances on London’s legendary Rinse FM. ICEE HOT resident badmans Disco Shawn, Ghosts on Tape, Low Limit, and Rollie Fingers will be there rinsing out the usual obscure bass anthems and funky future classics. $5 before 11, $7 after.

Ikonika’s debut album Contact, Love, Want, Have is out now on Hyperdub.
